Princess Productions came to Birmingham to film a dance group from the city called Antics.
Monday 4th March
For the second year running Highfield School in Saltley enjoyed two tours on the Big Brum Open Top Bus. When someone asks me why I run the bus, the answer is what could be better than seeing all the excited faces of the school children and hearing them scream when they went under Saltley Viaduct. I hope to have some photos shortly and the weather was amazing.
Tuesday 5th March
St Dunstans School enjoyed a school tour on the Big Brum Open Top Bus. When the MAC was reopened back in 2010 it was St Dunstans children who came on the bus singing all the way from Kings Heath to the MAC as part of the celebrations.
Sunday 10th March - Mothers Day
I am looking forward to the fabulous wedding of Shakir which will take place at the New Bingley Hall - check out the photos in the right hand column. On a freezing cold night Shakir's friends and family boarded the Big Brum Buz to drive round to the entrance of the New Bingley Hall while fireworks appeared to be let off from Hockley Flyover - an amazing sight. Shakir texted me afterwards to say the Big Brum Buz was the talking point of the wedding - thank you.

The launch of the Big Brum Buz for the 2013 season and the launch of the Big Brum Buz book. A fabulous tour guided by Mary and then a reception at the Cube kindly sponsored by Mark Davies of Hotel Indigo and Marco Pierre White Restaurant in the Champagne Bar. We were very fortunate that various guests and councillors including the leader of Birmingham City Council kindly attended the event.

Breaston WI had a guided tour of Birmingham on their own coach - this is what they said:
"On behalf of Breaston WI & friends, I would like to thank you for co-ordinating our trip yesterday, we all enjoyed it immensely. I will text Mary, as she was an absolutely brilliant guide, and gave us all an overview of Birmingham which was a joy and has made several of us wish to return for another visit, longer this time! The Big Brum Buz provided the transport for the wedding of Mrs Nimbo Raj from their home in Tipton to Wolverhampton - Mick the bus driver said everyone looked amazing - you can check out the photos on the wedding bus page.

At 2.30 as part of Middle Earth weekend the Big Brum Buz provided a Tolkien themed tour starting at Sarehole Mill. Even though it was raining the bus proved very popular and I was very impressed with Sarehole Mill and the whole event.

Tipton Youth Football Club celebrated all their wins with a drive through the town. What more could you ask for than a tour on an open top bus just like the major football clubs. This is what they said:
"Sue - the bus and Mick was fab - all of our club had a great time - it will stay in our kids memory's for ever - we would like to book the the bus at the end of next season weekend if poss - thank you for hiring the bus to us it was great"

Free Radio ran their annual charity event to raise money for Walk for Kids. The Big Brum Buz provided the transport for Jo and Sparky to follow the walkers encouraging them onwards and upwards. We started the day at Rookery Park in Erdington and the sun was shining - a brilliant day - check out the video here.

The Big Brum Buz as the Museum Heritage Bus visited Sarehole Mill and Blakesley Hall - a wonderful sunny day. We also provided the bus for the Dolman Street Museum Collection Centre Open Day - the bus which was absolutely beautiful was provided by Wythall Transport Museum.

Around 6pm on a Friday night our brilliant guide Alan did an architectural tour for the Urban Design Forum of the Royal Town Planning Institute - I think they had a great time and hopefully were inspired by the buildings of Birmingham.

An early morning tour on the Big Brum Open Top Buz for members of the Royal Sun Alliance Pensioners Association finishing with lunch at Chamberlain's Fish and Chip Restaurant on the Hagley Road - below is the feedback from Joan.
Thanks for your e-mail. The written feedback I received on the day from the members was all very positive. Some of them even took the time to phone me the next day to say how much they enjoyed their day.
Diana was a mind of information about places in Birmingham and its history - she was really interesting to listen to. Mick went down well with the ladies who were really grateful when he very kindly dropped one or two off before returning us back to Colmore Row. As for Chamberlains, we had a warm welcome from Simon and his staff and the food was delicious. Thanks for recommending it. All in all a really enjoyable day.
i'm hoping that when the Committee get to meet and discuss its arrangements for next year, we can hopefully look at running a similar event.

It was the half marathon again. Although the day started off rainy it improved hugely and apparently there was a turn out of around 20,000 people - how fantastic is that. Michael and Ricky ran this year and had there best times yet. The bus was stationed again at the intersection of the Pershore Road and Edgbaston Road so that we see the runners go past at around 4 miles from the start and then on the other side 8 miles - a difference in pace by this point! The Christmas Lights bus tour is the highlight of our season and this was the best year ever. A full bus, good weather and wonderful carol singing. Thank you as always to Mary our guide, Mick and Dawn the bus drivers and Peter Allen who came along and took some wonderful photos of the event. Afterwards the office Christmas party was held at Cafe Rouge in Harborne - an excellent night out.

The final event of the year was a private birthday party for a special birthday for a family from Stourbridge. Although the weather was not the best great fun was had by all.
