Big Brum Bus Heritage Bus Tours
From September 2015 schools will be able to have a wonderful day exploring the heritage sites of Birmingham Museums Trust on the Big Brum Buz. We have designed two special programmes that give Birmingham schools the opportunity to combine learning visits with a brilliant bus tour experience.
Sarehole Mill and Blakesley Hall package – a guided journey and tour of a beautiful working mill and inspiration of Tolkien’s Middle Earth Shire and an opportunity to explore the Tudor beauty of Blakesley Hall.
Aston Hall and Soho House – a guided journey and tour of the grand Aston Hall discovering its involvement in the English Civil War and opportunity to see Soho House, the home of the great industrialist Matthew Boulton and meeting point of the famous Lunar Society.
- Chose from an open top bus or covered double decker with seat belts
- We will be able to collect groups from school and after a day of touring return to school which is a great way of sorting your travel arrangements
- A Birmingham Museum Learning Officer will be your guide throughout the day
- Lunches can be at the heritage sites or on the bus if preferred

“Hi, I just wanted to say thank you very much to the two ladies who ran the Big Brum Buz on Sunday 2nd June, from Victoria Square to Sarehole Mill and Blakesley Hall. I came along with my husband, two kids and grandad, we had a fabulous day out thoughly enjoyed being on the bus and visiting the museums.
The ladies were very friendly and gave us a lovely welcome when picking us up.
The commentary was fab, we came from Stourbridge so not far but still learnt loads. Both museums were really great to visit.Beautifully kept and lots to look at, especially for the children.
I’ve shared my pictures with friends on facebook and had loads of positive comments!
Once again, thanks very much for a lovely day out! Kind regards, Helen Robinson
